ATTENTION CAMPERS AND PARENTS!!!

As your children’s chaperone, TMSD’s decisions will always come from a loving and parental perspective with your children’s well being always TMSD’s number one priority!

TMSD’s Spirit of Charity will always begin with cultivating and strengthening the feeling of compassion within the TMSD family.  Being concerned with the needs and wishes of others, helping without any expectation, will allow compassion to blossom among the TMSD family. With Sprit of Charity, it becomes possible for TMSD staff and campers to make our surroundings filled with joy.  This course of action helps all of us grow, tap the feeling of real happiness and expands our heart and soul, a win-win for all.

TMSD believes Communication is most important when trying to maintain functioning relationships.  Once all four campers are enrolled in each session, TMSD likes to encourage campers to become email pen pals prior to their departure to Spain.  As for communications, once TMSD and campers are gathered in Spain, all campers and TMSD staff members are expected to maintain respect, honesty and the courtesy of not interrupting towards one another.  Positive communication will be the key to a flourishing camp experience for you, the campers, and for us at TMSD during our tenure in Spain together.

TMSD maintains a Zero Tolerance Policy.  TMSD’s home environment will never be a fertile ground for fighting; rather it will be a sanctuary to preserve you and your aspirations.  No undesirable behavior that is linked to violence, illegal drug use, alcohol use and/or disrespect to camp family members and/or Spanish community members will ever be tolerated.  Any violation of this Rule of Engagement can be Grounds for Immediate Dismissal and is solely at the discretion of TMSD.  We at TMSD are about modeling a fun, loving family looking to share a lifetime experience together.  TMSD expects all negativity to be kept at bay.

TMSD is a strong advocate for the Buddy System, where two people, "camp buddies", operate together as a single unit so that they are able to monitor and help each other during their stay with TMSD in Spain.  This will specially be important when the second session arrives.  When first session campers participate in the second and/or third session, the less experienced “camper buddy” learns quicker with the experienced “camper buddy,” making their transition period away from home as smooth as possible.  It is TMSD’s desire and goal to see that each camper is comfortable and relaxed with his new surroundings making this his or her’s, the lifetime experience TMSD intends it to be.  Another reason to start pen pal relationships prior to your departure to Spain.

Quiet Hours will be the time when the TMSD family will naturally be ready to retire for the evening.  Trust me, after dinner, TMSD staff and campers will be exhausted from a full day of camp and excursions.    TMSD’s time guideline is 10pm – 7am.  This can be open for discussion when we are together.

Yes, TMSD will be providing housekeeping and laundry service to all campers.  TSMD expects all campers to respect their surroundings within everyone’s living quarters and within the Spanish community.  Your living quarters are expected to be neat and clean at all times as well, you will be expected to maintain tidy bathroom quarters, keep the kitchen area clean, along with the rest of the house and grounds.

Each camper is required to have cell phone and/or tablet connection1 to their family back home.  Skype accounts, WhatsApp accounts or similar apps are required on these smart devices.  These two specific apps allow for communication with family via the internet and should be free.  Families determine their own “Keep in Touch Schedule” with their children.  TMSD will be happy to remind campers when to call home.

1Parents of campers will be responsible for setting up their children’s cell service in Spain.
